Goldsmith – Platinumsmith – Silversmith

Born in London England in 1959, Chris has lived in many countries around the world.

He did under graduate studies at RMIT and completed the Diploma of Arts Gold and Silversmithing in 1984. He worked in Stuttgart, Germany from 1985 -1986 as a Goldsmith.

Returning to Australia he became a sessional lecturer at RMIT for 12 years in the Gold and Silversmithing area. Completing his Master of Arts Degree in 1999 in Gold and Silversmithing he went on to become the senior teacher and course coordinator at Melbourne Polytechnic from 2000 – 2009. (9 years) Chris is a qualified Vocational and Education Teacher (Certificate 5 teaching, VET practice)

Chris has been in private practice since 2009 until today 2026. He works in all levels and scales of Jewellery (small work) and Silversmithing (larger table ware, trophies and ecclesiastical items) and has been a Goldsmith for 44 years.

A founding Fellow member of the Gold and Silversmiths Guild of Australia.

He was awarded the Tony Kean Award for outstanding service to the Jewellery Industry in Australia in 2026.
