Lon Spring Garden – Gouache
Jo is a Fellow of The Victorian Artist Society, Past President of Melbourne Society of Women Painters & Sculptors, and an award-winning artist. Recent awards include The Heritage 9×5 Award, Whitehorse Art Show, Best Oil, Geelong Art Show, The Borough of Queenscliffe Award in Queenscliff Art Prize 2023 and the prestigious A.M.E. Bale Prize for Works on Paper, 2022. Jo has been shortlisted for several painting and drawing prizes including The Geelong Contemporary Art Prize 2021.
In 2005 Jo established ‘Jo Reitze paints your garden’, immortalizing gardens on commission. Although based in Surrey Hills, Jo concurrently paints atmospheric impressions around Ocean Grove. Her recent exhibition ‘Lon Surrounds’ showed paintings in oil or gouache and drawings in pen, all inspired by Lon’s vast property in Point Lonsdale.
Jo is also delighted to be part of The Hive Collective. The Hive Gallery, Ocean Grove will present their exhibition, ‘FLOW – stories from the wetlands’ from 31 May – 30 June 2024. All welcome!
