Living in Geelong much of Ian’s work is strongly influenced by the raw beauty found across the stunning Surf Coast region. This region provides the perfect backdrop for Ian to bring to the viewer a sense of the tranquillity, wildness and ever changing beauty found within the landscapes that surround us. The ocean holds a special attraction to Ian and much of his work focuses on seascapes along the Great Ocean Road.

Ian predominantly works in oils and his preference is to work with large canvases which help create and bring to the viewer a sense of the open space that we all enjoy. He also enjoys using pastels, Charcoal and pencil.

Ian participates in both Geelong and Surf Coast art groups and his work is regularly seen in shows and galleries around our region. His work has been selected for awards like “Best Pastel”, “Best Oil” and “People’s Choice” at local art shows and included in the Surf Coast Shire 2018 Calendar. Ian has put together 4 successful exhibitions of his work along the Surf Coast over the last three years.
