Artist Statement: Celebrating our natural landscape, February 2025.

I use my camera in various ways to view the natural world and the results often surprise me. For instance when I get back to my studio and see what I have captured through my macro lens, the photographs give so much more detail than the naked eye can at first see.

It is this wonder that intrigues me and has seen my practice, in the last few years, concentrate on the native flora and fauna near my home in Bendigo.

I have an artistic mind and love to take my images further and thus you will see montages of images that have grown from my photography, an example is Celebrating our natural landscape.This image is a large scale celebration of the local natural world.

I hope the works in “Celebrating our natural landscape” will bring joy to those who see them and encourage people to go out and explore our bush.
