Carol is an intuitive artist. She creates bright, bold, expressive, mostly abstract work. Sgraffito generally features in her works on canvas and wood panels.
Carol is equally happy creating on large canvases with acrylics or oils or other media, as she is creating on paper – large and small, with oils, with acrylic, with water colour, with inks … exploring mixed media is her current passion.
Carol’s abstract art is multilayered, colourful and speaks to the world as she sees it; travel heavily influences her practice – abstract, aerial perspectives of landscapes feature often in her works.
Carol’s favourite artists are Jackson Pollock, Matthew Dibble, Joan Mitchell, Kandinsky, Damien Hirst…Ken Done….the list goes on.
Carol is honoured that the City of Belmont has added her abstract expressionist piece “Filling in the Silences” 2021, acrylic on canvas, to their permanent collection.
Carol’s work is owned by collectors locally, nationally and internationally.
Carol has a degree in Social Science and English, and has co-produced an award-winning documentary that was screened at The Sydney Film Festival in 2014, and now she paints – prolifically, and joyfully.
