Phil Jefferson is semi-retired, working with the Bureau of Meteorology, with an expertise in clouds, meteorological equipment, and weather observations. With BoM, Phil has worked and lived in many of Australia’s states and territories, including a tour of 12 months in Antarctica, at Mawson station. He has also worked at Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean, Willis Island on the Great Barrier Reef, and at Giles in the Gibson Desert. Phil recently returned from Kiribati in the Pacific Ocean where he is teaching aviation meteorology to staff at the Kiribati Meteorological Service.
Therefore, there have been many opportunities, as an amateur photographer, to capture local nature and landscapes on camera.
Closer to home, this photograph, of beneath Queenscliff South Pier, was captured in beautiful light, whilst Phil was walking along the Queenscliff beach last year with his daughter.
