These images are part of a series created for an outdoor exhibition at Gasworks Arts Park in 2021. Amidst the challenges of the 2020 lockdowns, Sally explored with her camera around her Port Melbourne neighborhood and the broader City of Port Phillip area, continually drawn to the blend of old and new architecture and the allure of the nearby bay beaches. Inspired by simplicity, vibrant hues and intricate details, Sally seeks to share the beauty of our local landscape and architecture.

Biography

Sally Paterson is a Melbourne based fine art photographer who enjoys capturing images of the natural and urban environment as well as creating abstract and vibrant imagery. Sally balances her passion for photography with a busy corporate career. 

Growing up in New Zealand, Sally typically was the person in the family capturing moments with a point and shoot camera. Her inspiration to take up photography more seriously came in 2017 after completing two introductory courses to study technical and aesthetics of image making. Since then, she has been drawn to creating beautiful photographic images across a range of genres. In addition, Sally has been awarded for her photographs in Australian and international competitions and regularly exhibits in art shows and galleries.
